2026 Memorial Day Parade

The Village of Fredericktown is announcing the annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony will take place on Monday, May 25th at 10:00 a.m. The parade, honoring those men and women who lost their lives in military service to our country, will begin at the Village Square and proceed to Forest Cemetery.

Fredericktown’s Gold Star Family Members will be escorted by Fredericktown Chevrolet vehicles. The parade will be led by members of the Fredericktown American Legion Post 500 and scout troops comprising the color guard. The parade will also include the Fredericktown High School marching band; Fredericktown Police, Fire and EMS departments; and participants of the bike decorating contest. Memorial banners honoring local fallen heroes will be displayed along Sandusky Street. Fredericktown civic, athletic and school groups are welcome and encouraged to participate and march, along with veterans. All organizations participating should line up near the Fredericktown Municipal Building at 9:00 a.m.

Spectators may line up anywhere along Sandusky Street, from the Village Square to Forest Cemetery. Veterans who are unable to march may request a ride in the parade by meeting members of the American Legion at the start of the parade to request assistance. The Knox County Veterans Services Office will be on site for such assistance.

The ceremony at Forest Cemetery will feature music from the Fredericktown High School marching band, wreath laying, a Memorial Day address by American Legion Post 500 member and veteran; a 21-Gun Salute; and a special performance of “Echo Taps” by members of the Fredericktown High School marching band.
